About Skill First

Training starts with attention.

Skill First is an approach to training that values attention to detail over effort for its own sake. We explore what makes a movement useful and build from there.

The approach

Better decisions grow through useful practice.

Skill First begins with a simple question: what helps you make a better choice as conditions change? Technique, attention and focused repetition work together.

That means people do not all receive the same task. We look at experience, purpose and context, then choose an exercise that brings the relevant detail into view.

What guides us

Skill before show.

Martial arts can be serious without being loud or intimidating. A clear position, a well-read response or a deliberate choice can achieve more than extra force without direction.

Skill First combines technical precision with room to try and adjust. The aim is to understand what you are doing and when another choice is needed, rather than memorise a fixed script.

Who it is for

A starting point for different people.

You can bring a first question, experience in a discipline or a group that wants to explore something together. Private coaching gives space to your detail; workshops make a theme accessible to several participants. Coach Víctor Ribera adapts the exercise to the people in front of him.
